About Me

I am a PhD candidate at the University of British Columbia (UBC) School of Information. My advisors are Luanne Freund and Rick Kopak.

My research is at the intersection of human-computer interaction and information retrieval. I investigate how people find, manage, and use different types of information (e.g., audio, images, text, and video). I explore the tensions and breakdowns in human information interaction, and then provide implications for the design of practices and tools to address these needs.

I am also a member of the Human Communication Technologies Research Laboratory (HCT Lab) at the UBC Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. At the HCT Lab, I design and evaluate ViDeX — a video player created to support teaching and learning with video.
